The Story Behind WindowFix

With over 30 years in the double glazing industry, WindowFix was built on a foundation most competitors simply can’t match. Before setting up on my own, I spent 19 years working across almost every part of the trade — customer service, sales, surveying, manufacturing my own sealed units, and hands-on fitting of windows, fascia boards and guttering. I then spent a further 15 years doing what I love most: repairing windows and doors, and doing it properly.

Long before the industry, I was out on building sites with my dad, a builder, learning from an early age how structures go together and what it takes to do a job right. Growing up I was obsessed with Lego and Meccano — always taking things apart to understand them, then putting them back together. That instinct is still at the heart of what I do. A seized door mechanism or a failed window hinge is just a puzzle waiting to be solved.

WindowFix was set up to do things the right way: no call-out charges, honest upfront pricing, and a genuine no fix, no fee promise. Most repairs are completed on the spot from our fully stocked mobile vans, so there’s no waiting around and no unnecessary return visits.

For larger jobs and projects we work with other experienced, established fitters and trusted family members — people who share the same standards. Every job, whatever the size, gets the same care and attention.

What We Do

We fix windows and doors — we don’t sell new ones. Our most common jobs are misted double glazing, uPVC & door repairs, door lock repairs, window hinge repairs, and window lock repairs. We also offer a 24-hour emergency boarding-up service across the North East.
